Utah babysitter Cruel McKenna Newell was sentenced to only a month behind bars after she was caught on a nanny camera kicking and hitting 5-month-old twins.
Newell also covered their mouths and noses. She will serve a month behind bars and spend three years on probation after pleading guilty to one count of child abuse in Utah in January.
As part of her sentence she will also be forced to pay a fine of $5,000, complete 500 hours of community service and attend anger management classes.
The 21-year-old admitted the abuse after the five-month-old twins' father reported her to police. The family have not been named but the dad said she kicked, hit and covered the noses and mouths of his daughters. Police Sergeant JC Holt says the charges came after nanny cam proof was put forward. He said: "It’s our worst fear as a parent that something like that would happen to your child, especially with somebody you know that you’ve left that child in their care. "She lost her patience. She didn’t deal with it in a healthy manner. I think that all of us as adults, we can be susceptible to that at times.
