Caught On Video Spring Valley school officer was caught on camera beating a student during arrest as classmates watched and begin recording the shocking footage.
A video recorded by a student at the Spring Valley High School in Columbia showed a school resource officer asking a student to get out of her seat. He stands over her desk and tells the student, “either you’re coming with me or I’ll make you.” Without giving her time to get up, he grabs her and flips her over, slamming her onto the ground.
The student was told she was under arrest for disturbing school and given instructions which she again refused,” Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott told WISTV. “The video then shows the student resisting and being arrested by the SRO.” Police are investigating the incident.
A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s office confirmed to Fusion that the man in the video is School Resource Officer Ben Fields. The spokesperson said he has been placed on administrative duty while the investigation takes place.
Some former students of the school allege that they have witnessed Officer Fields using excessive force before:
