Rapper, songwriter & record producer, Eminem’s former sister-in-law, Dawn Scott, pass away on Tuesday of a suspected heroin overdose in a Detroit trailer..

Scott, who was 41 at the time of her death, is the twin sister of Eminem’s ex-wife, Kim Mathers. Both Kim and Dawn moved in with the rapper and his mother when they were just 15 years old, and Eminem (ne Marshall Mathers) was the legal guardian of Scott’s 22-year-old daughter, Alaina.
Police in Scott’s hometown of Warren, Michigan, told Page Six that a toxicology test is still pending.

On Wednesday, January 20, Kim posted to a sweet note to a funeral home’s website in Scott’s memory.

“Dawn was my sweet, beautiful sister who lost her way,” the 41-year-old wrote. “I kept a light lit for her hoping she’d find her way back to me. I miss her and love her more than anything I could ever say. I wish she was here so I could hug her and tell her I love her. Half of me is gone and I will never feel whole again.”

Other family members posted similar messages to the board, including Scott’s mother.
