A debate over rapper Tupac Shakur lands one man behind bars.
Two Florida men got into a violent confrontation over the
greatest hip hop artists of all time.
According to Clearwater Police Department, officers were dispatched to a house party last Wednesday night after receiving several 911 calls about a battery in progress.
When police arrived they found one victim with heavy facial injuries, lumps and a swollen eye.
Police say the victim was conscious when they arrived but wasn’t really able to communicate with officers because he was intoxicated. He was taken to Morton Plant Hospital via ambulance where he was treated for a broken nose.
Witnesses at the party told officers that the man who made the first attack was 35-year-old Thomas Statkiewicz. Statkiewicz later admitted to “defending” himself and punching the victim more than once after the victim tried to punch him during an argument over 2Pac.
Statkiewicz was placed under arrest for felony battery. Police say he has a previous battery conviction from last year.
