A Florida teen, 19 was sentenced to 25 years behind bars on Wednesday for fatally shooting a Jacksonville police K-9 named Fang two years ago.
Jhamel Malik Paskel was sentenced to five years in prison for killing a police K-9, and 20 years in prison for other charges including armed carjacking and kidnapping.
Paskel who was being tried as an adult after being arrested at 17 on six charges.
Paskel apologized, saying he was “a man ready to take responsibility” for mistakes he made as a child. He was 17 years old at the time.
