Man Arrested After Punching His Girlfriend In The Face Over Missing Cookie.

A Florida man is now behind bars after sucker punching his  34-year-old girlfriend in the face after he realized someone had ate his chocolate chip cookies.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance and found 31-year-old  Richard Hessic trying to flee the scene in his Lexus on Thursday.

Hessic was charged with domestic battery following the confrontation, he is expected to be arraigned on Jan. 5 on the misdemeanor charge.

Hessic told police he and his girlfriend got into a fight over cookies. The 31-year-old was “upset someone had eaten the last chocolate chip cookie.”

He got even more upset when he felt his girlfriend was “not taking him seriously.” Hessic’s girlfriend went to go shower, but Hessic followed her into the bathroom.

According to the police report, the girlfriend told police Hessic punched her on the left side of her face after ripping down the curtain.

She allegedly told police Hessic was upset that his favorite cookies were eaten, but she “didn’t want to argue over something so petty.” Hessic’s girlfriend said she told him she’d buy him more cookies because she was the one who bought them. Hessic was ordered to have no contact with his girlfriend and was placed on house arrest with GPS monitoring. The 31-year-old had previously been arrested for battery, fleeing, eluding, child abuse, driving with a suspended or revoked license and violating probation.
