24-Year-old Florida man was charged with aggravated battery after police say he strangled a 6-month pregnant woman because he thought she had the Coronavirus.
Responding to a 911 call, Cape Carol officers was flagged down by a person at an apartment complex who told them that they heard screams coming from the back.
Around 11pm officers searched the complex and found John Cory Newell with his hands around the victim’s neck strangling her.
Newell was arrested and held on $15,000 bond at the Lee County Jail.
