A Florida man was arrested for putting hands on his girlfriend after she switched the TV channel during the Super Bowl game.
55 Year-0ld Thomas Lamar White was hit with felony battery charges for a Sunday incident.
According to investigators white punched his girlfriend in the face for turning the channel during the Kanas City Chief’s Vs Tampa Bay game.
She suffered injures which included a cut on the face and chin, a bloody nose, as well as a swollen wrist and hand.
After questioning White about the altercation he told the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office the woman had been “running her mouth” and it had angered him.
He also told deputies that he punched the her in self-defense after she slapped and swung at him.
The woman was rushed to hospital following the attack.
White was booked into the Alachua County Jail at around 9.30 p.m. on Sunday.
He’s still in custody with a $15k bond.
The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office has been contacted for additional comment.
