22 Year-old Leon Taylor murder suspect of Indiana is seen on video escaping from an SUV after being transported to prison.
Police said an agent from REDI stopped at a Mc Donald’s before transporting Taylor from Chicago to Texas to face a murder charge at the time of the escape.
On Monday the prisoner jumped through the van’s window in the city of Gary, despite wearing a chain around his waist, handcuffs, and a leg restraint.
After the agent notified authorities of the escape, officers with the Lake County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene along with the Lake County Aviation Unit helicopter and a K-9 unit, according to the release. A manhunt had yet to locate Taylor, who remained at large as of early Wednesday.
