The city of Paterson New Jersey’s school district is investigating rapper Fetty Wap for his latest music video “Wake Up”.
Fetty shot his video at East Side High school and it was all about strippers and drug use.
According to NJ.com the district confirmed that the video was shot at the school and that they are now investigating who allowed it.
Terry Corallo, the district’s spokeswoman, said there’s certain procedures they go by when securing the use of the facilities, whether all procedures were followed is in question and being investigated.
“The district does not endorse the content of this video,” Corallo said.
Fetty Wap’s video was also released on 4/20 which is a code-term that refers to the consumption of cannabis, especially smoking cannabis around the time 4:20 p.m. The videos hook also refers to smoking marijuana like Wiz Khalifa “Cameron Jibril Thomaz, an American rapper, songwriter who gets high as F*ck”.
The video has posters that say’s “Go Team Kush,” a reference to a strain of marijuana. Towards the end of the video, a woman, presumably a teacher, takes an apple from her desk and uses it as a bong.
