Security guard charged with murder after shooting customer for not wearing a face mask.

A California Security guard is facing murder charges after he gunned a customer down for not wearing a face mask.

A fight broke out on Sunday inside the Green Farm Market in Gardena, Los Angeles between 32 year-old Umeir Corniche Hawkins and 50 year-old Jerry Lewis.

According to sources Hawkins got into an argument with Lewis when he entered the market without a mask.

Authorities said that Lewis then left the market but when he returned the two fought again and Hawkins fatally shot him as he walked away.

Hawkins’ wife, Sabrina Carter, 50, also faces charges in connection to Lewis’ killing. Carter was waiting in the parking lot for her husband to finish his shift when the fight broke out.

Carter later intervened in the brawl, drawing a second firearm and pointing it at Lewis and other shoppers as the two men fought — though she did not fire her weapon.

The victims family said that he only entered the market after catching two flat tires on his vehicle.
