At approximately 11:20 p.m. Sunday night, Orange City PD responded to a reported barricade in the 100 block of W Katella.
Crews arriving located Chevy Astro with a male suspect inside the vehicle in a parking stall, armed with a knife. Firefighters discretely brought a hose up to the vehicle, and police broke a window and the hose was turned on in the car to flush out the suspect.
A woman who identified herself as his sister said he was Michael Anthony Perez, 33, a father of six whose birthday would have been Wednesday. Police later confirmed Perez, of Orange, as being shot during the incident. He later died
