The date was chosen for the pun on the catchphrase “May the Force be with you” as “May the Fourth be with you” and a local business themed around the franchise wanted to put on a promotion to celebrate it.

Coco Vanilla Galactic Cantina Owner Bradley Whalen admits that he put one of his female employees in danger after making her dress’s up as Storm trooper for “Star Wars Day”.

He believes that someone must’ve seen her brandishing a plastic toy blaster believing it was a real gun and called the police. Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) Inspector Jason Walper says they got two 911 calls regarding a firearms complaint near the business on 13 Street North.
