Violating Covid-19 rules: Man sentenced to 1 year for having large parties.

A Maryland man was sentenced to 1 Year behind bars for holding two large parties that violated the states orders against Covid-19.

42 Year-Old Shawn Marshall Myers was arrested for his two huge parties he threw back in March.

Maryland banned these gatherings of more than 10 people due to the Corona Virus.

On Friday Myers was charged with two counts of failure to comply with an emergency order.

After receiving a noise complaint back in March police arrived at Myers home in Hughesville, Maryland and discovered more then 50 people.

Myers agreed to shut down his first gathering but held a second party just five days later, which he refused to end, according to prosecutors.

Myers was taken into custody after officers were unable to obtain his cooperation, prosecutors said.

District Court Judge W. Louis Hennessy also sentenced Myers to 3 years probation upon his release and ordered him to pay a $5k fine.
