A woman has been fired from her job as a property manager, after footage emerged of her calling the police on a black man for wearing socks in a community swimming pool.
Erica Walker phoned the cops after telling the man to take his socks off if he wanted to put his feet in the pool, at Riverset Apartments in Memphis on July 4.
Walker approached the couple and said: “no socks, T-shirts, hats, or things of that nature are allowed in the pool,” according to the man’s girlfriend Camry Porter, who filmed the incident.
However, Porter pointed out that other residents at the pool were also violating the rule and that she felt her boyfriend had been singled out because of his race.
